Adorable
Arriving 8/5/2017
8/20/2017 “Dory” is a very sweet and affectionate dog. She likes to be petted and cuddled. She has a beautiful gray/tan colored coat with a darker face.
She can now easily go up and down carpeted stairs. She can’t yet get in and out of vehicles on her own. She originally weighed in at 52 pounds when we got her but she has put on some needed weight. She loves toys. We socialized her with other dogs and she gets along well with them, including our other greyhound. She doesn’t seem to have any separation anxiety. We are not sure how well she would interact with smaller dogs. The extent of her prey instinct is still unknown. She is very good with kids.
She likes to eat and is not picky. She is good at sharing. She shared a bowl of food and water with our other dog without any issues. We didn’t let her on furniture, and she was obedient. She likes walks and is also capable of short jogs. She barks when we leave. Her barking eventually stops but we are not sure how long after. (This may cause an issue for apartment owners). We don’t have cats but predict her prey instinct would be shown in her initial reaction. She is still working through being house trained. We will miss this sweet dog. She is a people pleaser; she is sweet and kind and lives up to her name.
8/27/2017: Adorable (who responds to 'Dory' very well) is a sweet, affectionate greyhound. She has great energy, and is always up to play. She does rest well, and enjoys working on a bone. She alerts us when she needs to go to the bathroom with a small whimper. She has been accident free once we learned her language. She is jumping into vehicles well. We were able to have her interact with small dogs (around 7 - 10 pounds). She greeted these dogs well. We took her off leash with these small dogs, and she sniffed them and walked away. We still haven't had her around cats yet. She is amazing with children, is affectionate and gentle. This girl is such a beauty.
9/20/2017: Dory is so affectionate. She loves to cuddle, but also loves to be part of the active family time. She has a good amount of energy, but knows when to lay low and when to play. She comes when called. She asks to be let out to potty- and has not had any accidents since her one (and only) the first week she was with us. She loves walking, and loves the outdoors. She is such a beautiful girl. She is a happy dog, a healthy dog, and doesn't have a mean bone in her body. She's such a human lover that she'd likely be fine as an only dog. She and our other greyhound do get along very well. She's not an alpha, but has confidence around other dogs. She does great with very small dogs. She loves toys. She is amazing with kids. We still haven't had a chance to explore her in the same room as cats. She is a people pleaser, and a great catch!
