Amy, aka Mimi, is an exceptionally sweet girl. She loves being in the presence of people, and will happily spend her days following you around and snuggling on the couch. She does very well around other dogs, big and small, although she doesn’t have much interest in playing with them, preferring to instead play with her people. Her eagerness to please her people can, at times, make her rather energetic, but this also makes her easy to train. As an example, her enthusiasm for dinner was overwhelming, with her tail wagging wildly and her jumping up, so she quickly learned to “lay down” until dinner is ready, at which point she happily goes to her bowl with the word “okay.” She also travels well, comfortably riding in cars, interacting with new people and places, and enjoying walks without pulling.
Mimi does not crate well, displaying signs of separation anxiety every time she’s crated. While she has been able to go without someone home for a typical 8-5 workday, when her people are frequently coming/going she does act out by having accidents around the house. Her adopted family has returned her because of family health issues which has meant they cannot spend their nights and weekends with Mimi as much as they used to. Her ideal forever home would have people able to give her the time and attention she deserves, by either being with her more throughout the day or on nights and weekends.
If you’re looking for an affectionate greyhound companion, Mimi’s your girl!
