12/8/2017: It's been a week now since sweet baby Clair left the farm in Kansas... Clair didn’t race, but came to us directly from a greyhound farm as she was too slow to make the track. She is only 16 months old and is still a very curious puppy. Unlike racers that come from the track, she had never been off the farm. She had never ridden in a car or a greyhound hauler. She does have a racing name and is a registered racer, but the decision was made to not send her to the track for further training.
She had never been on a leash, but is learning. She still does need some work on a leash so she needs to go to a home with a fenced yard. She doesn’t pull on the leash – she just doesn’t know what to do when she’s on a leash, but she will learn. She hasn’t been out yet so we aren’t sure yet how she will be with children, but she did show some caution around strangers and men.
She's happy and silly with her foster mom and greyhounds, but is unsure about other people. She eats well and plays with toys. She does stairs on her own. She’s good on hardwood floors. She sleeps through the night and only had 1 accident the first day so she has learned. She does run off with her foster mom’s yarn every chance she gets and is way too interested in the Christmas tree and lights. She is very curious about items left at her level, but understands No! She is very good at obeying her foster sister greyhound when she gives her limits.
She will be spayed next week and will be available after she heals. She is full grown, but a smaller female. She is a darling black and white cow doggie with the cutest face and constantly wagging tail. She loves to be petted and comes over for attention. Because of her age, she may do better in a home with other dogs. We have not been able to determine if she is good with cats or small dogs yet.

She wasn't too sure of my cleaning ladies apparently who let her out on Tuesday. She hasn't met the little boys next door yet. I do wonder if she's afraid of men as she was concerned about one she's met, but that was the first night.
